On Friday night I went to IHOP for breakfast at dinnertime.
Don’t you just love IHOP?
I knew I wanted something from the SIMPLE & FIT menu, cuz I’m a girl who’s mindful of what and how much she eats these days. There were over 30 meals to pick from, but my eyes tracked straight to the Whole Wheat & Blueberry Pancakes!
Come to meeeeeeee, blueberry.
I had never tried whole wheat pancakes (or whole wheat much of anything), but I can’t resist a blueberry, so I gave it a go. I had two cakes topped with the blues, two strips of turkey bacon, and some egg substitute all scrambled-style. Deeeeee-licious.
And the whole thing was just 460 calories. Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
(Well, I did have to add maple syrup, but I asked for some sugar-free syrup.)
My pally wally ordered the Turkey Bacon Omelette which came with a fresh fruit cup, and she said it was light, fluffy, and very good! Her meal was only 420 calories.
She cheated and ordered a side of hash browns though. Addicted.
Everything on the SIMPLE & FIT menu is under 600 calories, but if you order from the regular menu and want to cut some, feel free to ask for a few changes when you order. Leave off the whipped cream or butter, substitute turkey bacon, order egg substitute or egg whites, leave off or cut down the cheese, and ask for dressings and sauces on the side.
One lucky reader will win a $50 IHOP gift card!
I received an IHOP gift card in order to try the SIMPLE & FIT menu. All opinions are mine alone.
