Ok, I lied.
It was dinner for my friend.
I had my usual roasted turkey on wheat with nothing but lettuce. Boooooring, except if you’re me. I love it!
Do ya’ll love how Subway prints their sandwich calories and fat content right on the napkin? I do!
Have you noticed the American Heart Association Heart-Check logo (sandwiches meeting stringent nutrition criteria) on their menu? It’s there.
Subway makes it pretty darn easy to make good choices because they offer so many healthy options, and they’re so forthright with the nutritional content. (I love me some transparency.)
And some Subway.
So yeah, back to the Tuscan Chicken Melt…
It comes with seasoned chicken strips, melted cheese (she chose provolone) and a tangy balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Obviously, my pal added a few other toppers as well.
If you order on wheat bread, it comes in at 380 calories and 8 grams of fat per sandwich.
It obviously didn’t look as pretty with all the extra stuff shoved on top, but it still tasted great. The chicken was tender and the dressing had a really nice taste to it.
I know she’ll go back to her typical roast beef sub next time, but she thought it was delicious.
