One of my favorite nights of the year is the evening before Thanksgiving when the whole family has arrived in town. Everyone is so happy to see each other, spirits are high and laughs are many.
It’s a night when a large variety of appetizers and seasonal drinks are served and enjoyed. So this year, I thought I’d try a Pumpkin Pie Smoothie recipe using Silk Milk (which can be served with or without alcohol).
Pumpkin Pie Smoothie
1 cup Silk Pure Almond Unsweetened Vanilla (**see notes to make a sweeter tasting drink)
2 Tbsp protein powder
1/4 cup canned pumpkin
1 Tbsp almond butter
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves
Combine all ingredients in a blender and process until creamy.
(Note: To make it a little more “spirited”, add 1 oz of bourbon. For a sweeter drink, use Silk Seasonal Nog.)
It’s not a fruity or sweet drink; it has more of a natural, earthy pumpkin flavor. I also wanted to make a few that were more dessert-like and sweet, so I replaced the Silk Pure Almond milk with Silk Seasonal Nog. And it was absolutely delicious!
